Rodney was born and raised in the Bay Area, he met his wife in the Bay Area who was living in Sacramento. When they got engaged his wife gave him a choice of staying in the Bay Area or relocating to Sacramento. He decided to move to Sacramento because the housing was less expensive and he believed it was a great place to raise a family. He settled in Natomas where he bought his first house and he has been living in Natomas for the past 17 years. In the Bay Area he owned two high end auto customizing stores, when internet sales started to become the way of buying items he got out of the customizing business. He switched professions with the guidance of one of his clients and become a mortgage loan consultant in 2005. He is currently a Branch Manager at New American Funding and has been in the home loan industry for over 18 years. He has helped hundreds of families realize the dream of homeownership throughout his career. He takes pride in passing on his knowledge and helping first time home buyers understand the home buying process to allow them make the right decisions for their family.

He has two sons that are very active in basketball, which is how he met Tauran. The two of them became instant friends and realized that they have a lot in common. Rodney is always willing to pass on his knowledge on home ownership and investing to anyone that is willing to listen. So when Tauran discussed how he wanted to create a foundation to give back to the community and mentor the younger generation, Rodney was instantly on board. This led to the creation of The Lab Foundation which together they hope to mentor and teach the younger generation lessons that will make them successful in life while also giving back to their community.
